The painter Hieronymus Bosch lived and worked in ’s-Hertogenbosch five centuries ago. He found inspiration there, had his favourite neighbourhoods and decorated it with fantastical figures. At the Bosch Experience, an exploration based on his famous work Garden of Earthly Delights, you will learn more about his work and life in medieval ’s-Hertogenbosch.

Discover the world of Hieronymus Bosch
The Bosch Experience was created for everyone who wants to learn more about the famous painter’s life, times and city. This exploration allows you to follow in the painter’s footsteps, discovering what his life in medieval ’s-Hertogenbosch was like. The Bosch Experience consists of several activities that you can experience separately. You can climb the famous Saint John’s Cathedral and see Bosch’s famous fantastic creatures and fools. Or take an exciting boat tour on the Binnendieze and imagine being in Hieronymus Bosch’s world. There is also an extraordinary light show on Markt square, which is where his workshop used to be.
