Nice - the capital of the Côte d’Azur

Nice – the pearl of the Mediterranean. Most people when they think of the Côte d’Azur automatically think of Nice, Cannes and Monaco, and Nice usually comes first. And the city is indeed the uncontested metropolis of the region.

Although Nice isn’t technically the political capital of the entire Côte d’Azur, to many people it is as good as. Nice probably has the most tourists, and therefore the most hotels. And apart from Paris itself, no other town or city in France has as many museums. It’s not only great for shopping, but also for experiencing art in any and all styles.

You can spend hours strolling through the Old Town and the many Fleur de Café, or perhaps go down to the beach and relax. Nice has what is probably one of the most famous seafronts in the world in the Promenade des Anglais. It starts to the west of the airport, and runs along the whole city to the harbour. So it’s only a short distance to the beach from almost any of the hotels.

A modern city with all the benefits, art and culture; fabulous shops and boutiques; a delightful Old Town with restaurants, cafés and markets, and the afore-mentioned long beach – all this makes up the charm and magic of Nice, and makes the city a hotspot for a fabulous summer weekend or a memorable holiday on the Mediterranean.
