Jetflite OY company news message:

"Last week, our Falcon 7X performed a very unique customer flight. We took off on Sunday to Cape Town and from Cape Town, we made two flights to the most southern corner of the world, Antarctica. The flight was performed by a crew of three pilots and a mechanic. The flight to Cape Town took 13,5 hours, and from Cape Town to Antarctica and back nearly 12 hours. With no valid landing areas in the South Sea, AOC operators need besides valid approvals and procedures, preferably also a long-distance three-engine-jet to fly there. Planning of the flight was a complex task, and since weather conditions often cause delays, they need to be taken into account.

We want to get our Falcon 7X aircraft in maximum use and since there are not many operators in the world who are able to perform evacuation and charter flights to the South Pole, Jetflite started planning these flights nearly a year ago, with all documentation, procedures and approvals now in place. The first flight went very smoothly, with only one minor weather-related delay during the trip. Besides demonstrating the great capability of our Falcon 7X aircraft, the flight was once in the lifetime experience for the crew on board.

We are proud to say that Jetflite is the only Finnish commercial operator who has flown to Antarctica and our OH-WIX the first Finnish aircraft in the South Pole. Even globally, there are not many."
