Washington in Bloom

Added by: Unihotel administration account 05.04.2016

Springtime in Washington is nothing short of spectacular. The cherry blossoms are in bloom and seeing them first-hand is an absolute treat. The first Yoshino cherry trees found in this area were originally planted in 1912, as a gift from Japan. Today, the National Cherry Blossom Festival heralds the start of spring and attracts people from all over. This beautiful time of year is the perfect opportunity to practice your photography skills, as there's no shortage of great photo-ops.

Interested in snapping your own version of the photos below, taken around Washington's National Mall? We've included the GPS coordinates, so you can track down the same spots to capture your own Cherry Blossom snaps. And remember, cherry blossom season is short-lived, so get outside and see them now!

Planning a trip to Washington in the near future? We'd love to welcome you to Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown.
